Poland Krakow – T-Minus 16 days

A place I have always wanted to go. I have a crazy passion for anything history related and for some reason I have always felt majorly drawn to Poland and in particular Auschwitz. Iv read books, iv watched films, documentaries and still I feel like there is so much more to know, learn and explore.

Dave (my other half) who also likes history doesn’t really care much for the idea of Poland so when my niece and sister suggested Krakow for a winter break I snapped their hands off.

Of course there’s going to be copious amounts of alcohol and shopping involved. I hear they do AWESOME vodka so I cant exactly say no!. Dave thinks I’m weird for wanting to see somewhere were so many innocent people lost their lives, and I sort of get what he means but I just think that people need to be more aware of what happened in the past to make sure nothing like this ever happens again in the future! – Am I right or am I right?

Does anybody have any tips on places to go, eat, see ect? I hear the salt mines are a must!!

Any Poland-esque information welcomed!
